Describe an impressive work of art (such as a painting) you saw
You should say
Where you first saw the artist
What the painting is about
Who the painter is
And explain why you enjoy it
Since I’m not a big art fan, I don’t often look at paintings or go to galleries or museums for any kind of reason, so I’m not familiar with any well-known pieces of art. I am not sure if I recall this painting correctly, but I am familiar with Picasso and this one, Starry Night.
There was this one occasion, though, when my family decided to plan a trip to Da Nang because I had a lot of free time following my final exam. We enjoyed a variety of activities there, such as swimming on the gorgeous beach with its glistening clear water. We also took a short bus ride to Hoi An, where we explored the area and enjoyed some delicacies. There, I stumbled upon “Starry Night” in the middle of a small art exhibition that included both domestic and foreign works of art as we made our way to the town center. At first, I had no idea it was Picasso’s work, but I was still captivated by its beauty. While other works of art focused on humans or objects, “Starry Night” stood out and captured my attention. Typically, people draw the night sky with stars and regular-shaped clouds; Picasso took a different approach by, sort of, twisting them, making the image more unique.
Once I returned to my hotel, I looked up a few facts about Picasso. His style changed drastically towards the end of his life, which made sense given that his later years had been a tragic period of his life during which he became isolated due to his unstable mental state.
